Dinema polybulbon, a miniature orchid species …

Dinema polybulbon, a miniature orchid species is blooming in my orchidarium. The scent is surprisingly carrying even if there are only 3 flowers open (more to come).

I’m currently working hard on my thesis, which is why I haven’t been here so much. Next week back to work. Catch you later! 🙂

Something a bit different tonight.

Something a bit different tonight.

Due to our days being so short that I have been leaving for work and coming back home in total darkness with the days being completely cloudy this past week or more, I haven’t got any new pics from the garden.

However, I’ve been enjoying the plants in my new orchidarium that I built for about a month ago. They have started to grow and this is the first one to flower in there. It’s a Restrepia brachypus. The whole flower is about 3-4 cm tall, the most prominent stripey synsepal being about 2 cm long. What a dash of colour in this darkness!

The holidays are here and I hope that I’ll be able to return to regular posting soon again.

Wishing you all an easy, colourful weekend!
