Remembering is overrated…

Even after some frosts, this newly planted Clematis ‘Remembrance’ still puts out a few flowers (probably just because of being newly planted). I suspect the strong raspberry colour is due to the low temps but one can live in the hope it would give some of these in the summertime too. It’s supposedly a sport of a well-known, well-loved old cultivar ‘Comtesse de Bouchaud’, a clem of a much lighter shade of pink.

I’ve planted 50 clematis this season (so far, maybe I’ll manage a few more still). I’m looking forward to quite good a show next year! 🙂
